Microsoft Singapore today announced retail availability of Surface Pro 3 in Singapore. The latest in the Surface lineup, Surface Pro 3 is a lightweight tablet that delivers the power and performance of a laptop. Customers in Singapore can buy any of the Surface Pro 3 Intel® Core™ i3, i5 or i7 models at MicrosoftStore.com, selected retailers and authorized commercial resellers.
HTC has announced the Butterfly 2 for the Asian markets. The phone was previously launched on KDDI in Japan as the J Butterfly but will now be available in other Asian markets.
ZTE, one of the top global handset manufacturers today announced the launch of three new Android smartphones running – Blade VEC 4G, Blade L2 and KIS 3, which will be available in Singapore for the first time from August 23. The mobile handsets will be distributed exclusively via leading mobile solutions provider, Polaris Ltd, and are extremely cheap.

Keeping in strict accordance to their relatively new 6 month release cycle, Sony has sent out the invitations for an “exciting event” planned for the 16th of September in Singapore. With Sony confirming their switch to a 6 month release cycle earlier this year, it is plain to see the Xperia Z3 will be revealed then.
Update 2: Sony has confirmed that we’ll be seeing the Z3, Z3 Compact and Z3 Tablet Compact on 16 September, when the event starts at 3:30 PM so stay tuned!
Update 1: The Z3 has been unveiled alongside the Z3 Compact and Z3 Tablet Compact at IFA 2014. We’ll be heading to Marina Bay Sands for the live coverage of Sony Singapore’s event on 16 Sept, where the Z3 is most likely to take centre stage. Today Microsoft announced via the Surface Blog that Surface Pro 3 will become available for purchase at retail outlets and commercial resellers on 28 August in Singapore. Customers can pre-orders for Surface Pro 3 now at the Microsoft Store online, as well as at authorized retailers Challenger, Newstead and Harvey Norman.

I wasn’t very happy with HTC’s decision to launch the One (E8) over a month ago. Using the brilliant HTC One (M8) with a 90% metal body, the faster processor, superb UI and dazzling display as a baseline, they re-launched it in plastic but with a better camera. Understandably many One (M8) customers grumbled, but perhaps they will not now – the One (E8) will cost just S$658.

Xiaomi finally announced a week ago that the highly anticipated Redmi Note would be available in Singapore. The 1.7Ghz Octa-core 5.5″ phablet will be going on sale in Singapore on 8 July (that’s next Tuesday) for a low $199.
