The Sony Xperia Z3 and its smaller but equally as powerful cousin, the Z3 Compact are now available for pre-order at all three telcos! However, there is a catch with the Z3 Compact – it is only available for pre-order at SingTel, though it will be available for sale at M1 and StarHub as well.

When last month we were sent an invite from Sony for an “exciting event” planned for the 16th of September in Singapore. With Sony confirming their switch to a 6 month release cycle earlier this year, we speculated we’d see the Z3 launch in Singapore then, and we were right.

Sony yesterday launched their mid-range device, Xperia T3, the stunning new quad-core smartphone created exclusively for those looking to stand out from the crowd. Beautifully crafted in a stainless steel frame, the Xperia T3 is a light and ultra-slim sensation that’s just as pleasing to hold, as it is to look at. Keeping in strict accordance to their relatively new 6 month release cycle, Sony has sent out the invitations for an “exciting event” planned for the 16th of September in Singapore. With Sony confirming their switch to a 6 month release cycle earlier this year, it is plain to see the Xperia Z3 will be revealed then.
Update 2: Sony has confirmed that we’ll be seeing the Z3, Z3 Compact and Z3 Tablet Compact on 16 September, when the event starts at 3:30 PM so stay tuned!

I wasn’t very happy with HTC’s decision to launch the One (E8) over a month ago. Using the brilliant HTC One (M8) with a 90% metal body, the faster processor, superb UI and dazzling display as a baseline, they re-launched it in plastic but with a better camera. Understandably many One (M8) customers grumbled, but perhaps they will not now – the One (E8) will cost just S$658.

Problem is, it took the 4 MP UltraPixel gamble again, and failed. Again. Now HTC has released the One (E8), with a polycarbonate body, but a 13 MP camera.
