It sure took them a while, but hey – at least it came to Singapore, something that can’t be said for any previous Nexus smartphone. Android purists in Singapore should be rejoicing, as now they can purchase the device with warranty and without having to jump through a million hoops though the price tag might cause some to reconsider. The days of the cheap Nexus seem to be over.
Motorola brings the new Moto G to Singapore consumers starting from October 28 for only S$ 298 for the 8 GB version. The new Moto G comes with a 5” brilliant bigger display, stereo sound, an all-day battery, and the latest Android OS.
Samsung fans, the king of phablets is back, and we’ve got a date for its Singapore release. Samsung Mobile Singapore has announced the local pricing and availability details of the Note 4, as well as details regarding pre-order with M1, StarHub and SingTel.
The Sony Xperia Z3 and its smaller but equally as powerful cousin, the Z3 Compact are now available for pre-order at all three telcos! However, there is a catch with the Z3 Compact – it is only available for pre-order at SingTel, though it will be available for sale at M1 and StarHub as well.

Sony today had scheduled the Asian launch of the highly anticipated Xperia Z3 and the Xperia Z3 Compact, an event which saw media participants flying in from all over the region. When last month we were sent an invite from Sony for an “exciting event” planned for the 16th of September in Singapore. With Sony confirming their switch to a 6 month release cycle earlier this year, we speculated we’d see the Z3 launch in Singapore then, and we were right.
Microsoft Singapore today announced retail availability of Surface Pro 3 in Singapore. The latest in the Surface lineup, Surface Pro 3 is a lightweight tablet that delivers the power and performance of a laptop. Customers in Singapore can buy any of the Surface Pro 3 Intel® Core™ i3, i5 or i7 models at MicrosoftStore.com, selected retailers and authorized commercial resellers.

Keeping in strict accordance to their relatively new 6 month release cycle, Sony has sent out the invitations for an “exciting event” planned for the 16th of September in Singapore. With Sony confirming their switch to a 6 month release cycle earlier this year, it is plain to see the Xperia Z3 will be revealed then.
Update 2: Sony has confirmed that we’ll be seeing the Z3, Z3 Compact and Z3 Tablet Compact on 16 September, when the event starts at 3:30 PM so stay tuned!

Today Microsoft announced via the Surface Blog that Surface Pro 3 will become available for purchase at retail outlets and commercial resellers on 28 August in Singapore. Customers can pre-orders for Surface Pro 3 now at the Microsoft Store online, as well as at authorized retailers Challenger, Newstead and Harvey Norman.
I wasn’t very happy with HTC’s decision to launch the One (E8) over a month ago. Using the brilliant HTC One (M8) with a 90% metal body, the faster processor, superb UI and dazzling display as a baseline, they re-launched it in plastic but with a better camera. Understandably many One (M8) customers grumbled, but perhaps they will not now – the One (E8) will cost just S$658.
