Last week we had the opportunity to attend Microsoft’s Surface Pro 3 Launch Preview Event in Singapore, where not only did we get to go hands on with the new tablet-PC, but also with the Xbox One and the brand new Nokia Lumia 930 (which should be releasing in Singapore within the week). Head past the break to find out more about Nokia’s Microsoft’s latest flagship phone.
The Nokia Lumia 930 is the first flagship from Nokia after being bought over by Microsoft. It has all the bells and whistles of the Lumia 1520, just in a much more manageable size.
Here’s the specs breakdown of the Lumia 930
- Snapdragon 800 processor, Adreno 330 GPU
- 5″ 1080p AMOLED display (441ppi)
- 32GB storage/ 2GB RAM
- 20MP Pureview Camera
- 2420mAh battery
- 137 x 71 x 9.8 mm, 167g
We managed to get our hands on a black and a green model. First impressions of the new flagship is rather good. At 167g it feels rather heavy (but still lighter than the 920), but then again you do get a 5 inch screen, which is 0.5 inches larger than its predecessor’s.
Similar to the 925, the sides of the 930 is made of an aluminium frame while the back is made of matte polycarbonate. It feels great to the touch, and Nokia’s gone for a more “boxy” design language for this one, losing the curves that the 925 had.
While it does seem like a worthy flagship device it’s also worth mentioning that the Lumia Icon was available earlier in the year, which had identical specs but was made only available in the US.
The Lumia 930 is expected to be rolling out in Singapore within the first week of July.
