The newest offerings from the guys at Cupertino, both these devices have improved upon their predecessors by large margins. The new iPad Air is just under 500g, and thinner than 8mm. It also comes with the new A7 chipset. It’s smaller sibling, the iPad mini, is also carrying the same chipset. Both devices will be shipping with iOS 7 out of the box.

The iPad Air has been vastly improved over the iPad 2. The new A7 chip is said to be twice as fast, and offering twice the amount of graphics performance as last time. However, the main selling point of this device will be its wafer thin sides and feather light weight. For a 10 inch device, the iPad Air certainly seems to about to take the crown.

Looking at the iPad mini, you see that it now finally has the Retina display that the larger iPad users have been bragging about. This finally brings the device within the same bracket as competitor tablets such as the Nexus 7. The Nexus 7, has a Full HD 7 inch screen, which amounts to 323 ppi. The new iPad mini has finally reached that level, having a 2,048 x 1,536 pixels 7.9 inch screen, which amounts to 326 ppi.

SingTel and Starhub have confirmed that they will be carrying the devices. You can find out more here and here respectively. Pricing of the devices has yet to be confirmed. As of now, M1 has not released any statement about the availability of either device through them.
