The Logitech “Doodle Collection” Mice

The days of boring mice are over.

When you’re shopping for a mouse, the question of ‘looks’ have been irrelevant for too long. You had to choose between a cheap bland looking mouse, or had to opt for the neon green or blue gaming mice that can seem very out of place on your colorful desk.

Meet Logitech’s new “Doodle Collection” M238.

“The 2017 Doodle Collection mice are designed to turn your everyday moments into entertainment. We took our most creative daydreams, and designed a series of iconic hand-drawn characters with bold patterns to inspire any task,” said Moninder Jain, Managing Director, ASEAN and Vice-President for Logitech.

There’s Triple Scoop the artistic ice cream cone; Sneakerhead, a trophy-winning sneaker who wears sneakers; Skateburger, who is exactly what you would expect it to be, and Lightbulb, the battery-powered incandescent bulb, among others.

Designed to work on Windows, MacOS, Chrome OS, and Linux, the mice themselves are miniature ultra-portable wireless rodents that make use of the 2.4GHz spectrum and can operate up to 10 meters away from the nano USB receiver. They come fitted with Logitech’s own optical sensor and have a static sensitivity of 1,000 DPI.

Beyond the unique look of the new Logitech Doodle mice, the big selling point with them is their battery life. With just a single AA battery, the Logitech M317C is capable of up to 12 months of operation.

It comes with rubberygrips on the sides to aid grip and control of the mouse, which is a nice touch.

My only gripe is that it is not a Bluetooth mouse, but at the low price of $29, Bluetooth capability might be too much to ask.

Finally, a budget compact mouse that doesn’t look bland on the table.
