It sure took them a while, but hey – at least it came to Singapore, something that can’t be said for any previous Nexus smartphone. Android purists in Singapore should be rejoicing, as now they can purchase the device with warranty and without having to jump through a million hoops though the price tag might cause some to reconsider. The days of the cheap Nexus seem to be over.
Even if we set macro-trends aside, not even the fact that an average corporation involves 10% more outsourcing, there are many areas where the figures indicate the opposite. So if we’re talking about macro-trends, perhaps it is not the best indicator, as a specific industry or organisation might be. The long wait is over. In the wee hours of the morning, Microsoft has launched Windows 10 Technical Preview for phones.

After all, how else to market a hot curve. The LG G Flex 2 is marketed as having Hot Style, Hot Performance and Hot Solutions.
Xiaomi’s brand new Mi Note flagship will be launching in Singapore in the second quarter of this year. The Mi Note, which rivals the iPhone 6 Plus and Samsung Galaxy Note 4, is Xiaomi’s first flagship-grade phablet. It was announced in January alongside the Mi Note Pro, a more beefed-up version of the phablet.
After gaining momentum in Southeast Asia and India, the Apple of China strikes again, this time in the tablet front. The Mi Pad – Xiaomi’s answer to the iPad mini 2 – will be on sale next Tuesday, 10 Feb, for S$299.
Apple recently reported that 69% of their revenue came from iPhone 6 sales alone. To date, 74 million people have bought an iPhone 6, a number higher than for any other iPhone. This despite the proliferation of cheap, great Android handsets in the market from the likes of Xiaomi, OnePlus, and Oppo, among many others. With smartphone features being increasingly similar, and performance differences negligible, you would be forgiven for wondering why your friends would splash a thousand bucks on an iPhone, when an Android handset half the price would perform just as well, perhaps better.
