Samsung launches new Gear series in Singapore, PayPal partnership, and Galaxy Life

Along with last night’s launch of the Galaxy S5, Samsung Singapore has announced the launch of its wearable devices, as well as some great features and benefits for S5 users. Read on to find out more.

(1) Samsung launches next generation of wearable devices – Gear 2, Gear 2 Neo and Gear Fit – in Singapore

Key highlights – Samsung Gear 2, Gear 2 Neo and Gear Fit
Enable personal fitness coaching in real time, allowing users to develop a customisable fitness routine and monitor their heart rate, in order to improve their overall well-being
Allow users to accept or ignore incoming calls and messages, and providing instant notification options based on a user’s activity and habits
Connect users to a wide variety of Samsung devices and access an enriched application ecosystem as the first wearable powered by Tizen-based wearable platform
Certified for qualified protection from water and dust (IP67), to keep dust particles out and protect against harmless ingress of water for up to 30 minutes of submergence at a depth of one metre

Pricing: Samsung Gear 2, Gear 2 Neo and Gear Fit will be priced at an RRP of S$398, S$298 and S$268 respectively.

(2) Samsung and PayPal allow consumers to shop and pay with fingerprint authentication on new Samsung GALAXY S5 LTE
In partnership with PayPal, GALAXY S5 users will be the first to be able to login and shop at any merchant that accepts PayPal on mobile and in-stores with only their fingerprint. The new secure, biometric feature means GALAXY S5 LTE users will no longer need to remember passwords or login details across millions of PayPal merchants

(3) GALAXY Life – A Samsung loyalty mobile application that offers curated and exclusive content by experts such as celebrity chef Bobby Chinn, sports commentator/journalist Jason de la Pena, fashion host/model Asha Gill, TV host/model Dominic Lau, model/TV presenter Joey Mead King and actor/Hi-5! member Stevie Nicholson.
