LG Mobile Singapore has confirmed that LG’s latest phone, the G Flex, will be arriving at Singaporean and Hong Kong shores within the next week.
Singapore customers get to pre-order this device first from all three carriers from 8 December onwards, and will be able to purchase it outright on 21 December. The phone will be going for $1088.
Pre-order customers will receive a LG Vest Cover (worth $48) and a LG Tone+ Bluetooth headset (worth $178). Aside from these two gifts, each carrier is dangling its own bevy of gifts and discounts. M1 customers get the added benefit of a free LG Docking wireless speaker that can be used with any Android device, while the first 150 Starhub customers will get $100 knocked off the price. SingTel customers will get a pair of SingTelshop.com Exclusive Earphones, a Bluetooth Speaker (Only Applicable for Value Plan and Above), and an LG Pocket Photo Printer.
M1 customers will get the device delivered from 19 to 20 December, while SingTel customers will get it on 18 December. Starhub has no information about their delivery date as of now.
Hong Kong customers will not be able to pre-order the phone from LG, but will be able to buy it from 13 December onwards.
The LG G Flex is certainly an innovative phone – only the second curved smartphone in the market. Packing a 6 inch 720p display, a 3500 mAh battery, and other identical innards as the flagship G2, its performance should be at the same level as the G2, and direct competitor Samsung Galaxy Round (Samsung’s own curved device). What it does perform better in though, is the fact that it has a properly functioning ‘healing’ rear panel, as has been demonstrated in our piece about this feature. It is also actually flexible, being able to completely flatten under pressure, but returns to its curved shape once pressure is relieved.
