Official Facebook App For Windows 8 Released

The official Facebook app for Windows 8.1 (for the Modern UI, that is), has finally been released. If you are on Windows 8.1, download it now! It doesn’t work on Windows 8 for some reason, but if you are already on Windows 8, there is no reason not to upgrade to Windows 8.1 now, because it has a ton of cool, new features that build upon Windows 8 and improves it. And of course, it’s not compatible with Windows 7, like all other Windows Store apps.

Finally, you can get notifications locally on your computer/tablet running Windows 8.1/Windows 8.1 RT. The app is much more user friendly than using the browser, with large, built-for-touch buttons, and will likely persuade more developers to develop for the currently understocked Windows Store.

Here are a bunch of screenshots of the app:

Well what are you waiting for? You can install it here for free. It’s only an 11 megabyte download.

That’s all for now folks. Tell us what you think about Facebook for Windows 8.1 in the comments below. I’m pretty happy they finally released an app for it. It’s been a year overdue, don’t you think?
