Google just announced Android 4.4 KitKat, and they uploaded a video along with it (below). Interestingly, someone noticed a new Nexus device somewhere around 0:38 in the video. Could this be the Nexus 5? There are several possibilities:
1. This is the Nexus 5
2. This is the 2nd Gen Nexus 4.
3. It’s fake.
The Nexus 5 is said to be made by Motorola, though we have to take that with a pinch of salt. The phone on the video, on the other hand, can be believed to be quite real, since Google removed the video shortly after posting it.
As you can see from the image above, the gentleman filming the statue’s unveiling is using a Nexus smartphone that we’ve never seen before. It kind of looks like a smaller Nexus 7, with the same Nexus branding and soft-touch back — but it’s quite clearly a smaller device.
It also has an LED flash under its camera, and what looks like an LG logo nears its bottom edge — two things the Nexus 7 does not have. You’ll also notice the device is slightly larger than its predecessor, the Nexus 4, which is being held by the lady in the blue top.
So is this the Nexus 5? Who knows. Maybe.
